June is well underway, and predictably, we've found our first herd hopeful for the month already.
First, though, I will share with you a few cool wilds who did not have what it takes but are still worth mentioning.
This one just made us smile. She was a pacer as well, which, with those short legs, was quite entertaining.
Another cool pale brindle!
Such a pretty volcanic wild!
We appreciate the Harry Potter reference, and he was a very cute pony besides.
I don't know that I'd go so far as "Beauty," but it was fun to see both a curly coat and upright mane on a pinto.
This one seemed so... unusually put together, what with the fetlocks, odd hoof angles, big ears, and tiny head....
...and yet he could still motor along at 17 mph, high by wild horse standards!
This next one was almost a herd hopeful.
While not the most exciting coloring-wise, she was still very easy on the eyes and quite speedy.
It was not meant to be, though. Orneriness strikes again.
We intended to visit wonderland yesterday, but we mis-clicked on one of our other saved locations and ended up in a bamboo forest instead. XD Hence, our herd hopeful is not a fancy wonderland equine, but this guy:
Bamboo forest wilds are not generally the most elegant, though of course there are some cool ones out there, like Felicity's mares Ginkgo and Waffle. This one, at least in my mind, managed to be both cool and more elegant than most bamboo wilds. The long, shaggy mane is probably part of it - I'm a sucker for long manes. =)
He also has handsome indigo eyes.
The name doesn't really work, since he's not brave, so we've renamed him "Dusky" after his lasso location. We'll wait and see what the rest of the month holds, but I think he stands a pretty good chance of staying.
As we returned to the nearest village, Supernatural, we ended up riding through somebody's ranch and admiring their many mosaic horses out on display.
Escher seemed to like this huge, wildy-spotted one, though he was not crazy about the giant venus flytrap chomping away nearby.
There was a mosaic strawberry roan Heavy Draft Breton as well, so of course we had to let Clavius say hi.
Maybe we should randomly pick the locations we visit more often. It sure made last night interesting. =)
