It's Raining Wilds!

Public schools around here were out for spring break this past week. Mother nature was not kind to anybody who stuck close to home: it was cold, cloudy, and often wet, except for today, the last day. We're actually seeing low 60's and some sun! It's lovely.

No one but our aunt (teacher) even got a spring break, so business went on as usual around here anyway.  *Sighs* We did get to binge watch season 1 of All Creatures Great and Small with Mom this weekend and last, though, and that was fun.

We also had some time to make a few mail runs on HI3 yesterday. We intended to visit wonderland biomes, because we were in the mood for some giant flowers and fancy wilds, but it didn't pan out that way.

First, we got distracted by a few wilds near our ranch, including this rose grey pintaloosa pony:

and "Jungle Prince," who really should've been "Highlands Prince."

Then we found a few volcanic biome wilds after selling off those near-ranch wilds, including "Monet," who did look like he was painted subtly with watercolor.

Not long after, we finally headed to a wonderland village, only to be led into a mediterranean biome on a mail run and find a clunky horse named after a famous composer:

He had the nicest persona of the day, +480!

Here is the cooler of the two (and there were only two) wonderland wilds we caught! He's brindle amber cream pearl - quite handsome. Had he been gaited or larger (he was only 13.3 hands) we'd have been tempted to keep him. <3

Mail runs led us on into the fall forest. This stallion's conformation may be odd, but those are some nice dapples!

This cute pony had unique facial markings. They reminded me of a UFO jettisoning something. Or maybe about to beam something in.

This larger bay stallion reminded me a little bit of my Starfleet:

Before long, back we went to Admin Removed Village to sell more wilds. As long as we were there, we accepted a mail run there too, which led us to a bunch of volcanic wilds.

The prettiest (in my opinion anyway) was this marking-less grulla mare who blended in quite well with the rocks. She was quite speedy for a wild as well: 17.6 mph. Those don't come along every day, at least for us!

Her amusingly-timed screenshot was also sadly appropriate, though: she was very ornery.

The final wild we found yesterday gets the prize for most suitable name. We couldn't have done better ourselves. =)

No April herd hopefuls yet, but there's still plenty of time!

Mom's/our plush bird collection has recently grown in leaps and bounds, however!

She found a site selling the elusive downy woodpecker. And while she was at it, she decided to go for it and purchase the non-Michigan-dwelling songbirds they had available: blue grosbeak, Stellar's jay, and western tanager. To get free shipping and because they were so cute, the turkey and the California quail got put in the cart too.

The first quail arrived mute, so along came replacement quail, who works perfectly.

Then she couldn't help searching elsewhere for the two remaining non-Michigan-dwelling songbirds on the list. The painted bunting and mountain bluebird have since joined the party too.

I think she's finally done now? Unless she decides to go for the waterfowl? (Canada goose, duck, and loon?) We'll see, ha ha. We just love having these cute little guys around. I think we should divide them up amongst the four of us and give them names. <3 <3 <3 <3
