Is it magic... or a horsey wig?

It's our grandma's birthday today! Yay for Saturday birthdays! Bethany's birthday was also on a Saturday this year, back on the 8th.

On the day before Bethany's birthday, we found our first August wild with a 900+ genetic stat total, a pearl mare from the jungle:

She reminds me a bit of Ballpark, only with much more normal hooves.

Skittsh, ornery, and lazy! Ugh, the trifecta of undesirables!

See ya, Genoa. Loved your color, hair, and markings, though!

Bethany's big day, a sunny, toasty one, came and went without any amazing wilds turning up. It wasn't from lack of looking, let me tell you!

However, two days later, we found this mare:

Misnomer: no star. No white markings at all, sadly.

Up until here, nothing too interesting. But wow, jackpot in the personality department!
They add up to exactly 500. This is only the second time we've ever caught a wild with a persona total that makes it out of the 400's. Skylight, our pacing chestnut mare, still reigns supreme with her 514 total, though.

Here StarWind is under saddle:

Not a huge mare, nor very flashy, but there's nothing about her that makes us cringe either. XD My sisters want to keep her, of course. I reminded them that we already have 3 bay silvers (Fireside, Pizza, and Arrowhead) but they seem to think she's different enough, being a chocolate brown silver. *Sighs*

Our other August wild of note so far is, like Double Trouble, another pinto stallion from Wonderland. He's yet another silver, but this time silver on black.

He looks like a Wonderland wild, alright!
His genetic stats aren't so great, but he has a great jump and pretty low stamina drop. His personality is good too, though not as amazing as StarWind's. We were hoping he'd be gaited...
...but alas, he is not. He's still quite handsome, though, and he has cool eyes.

The right one is blue...

...and the left one is brown!

While I'm not super gung ho about either of these August wilds, I sure am glad we decided to keep our bald Eagle. She is no longer bald! HI3 rolled out a horse "barber" feature a while back, and I finally decided on a new hairstyle for her. Here she is trying some out:

As nice as the longer styles looked, they seemed a bit too jarring after seeing her maneless for so long. So, I decided to play it conservative and kept it short. :^)
$2500 well spent. <3

Now for some fun screenshots from our last few weeks of adventuring!

The lavender pool by our ranch was really popular with the wilds that day!
Can you find all 4?

Huh. Not even snow and frozen ground can deter pirates from burying treasure on HI3.

Yep, this is some "Favorable Moorland," alright!
The game was being super laggy that day, though. We caught all 3 wilds, but I'm not sure we ever got the pot of gold to register, despite repeated clicking.

The timing here couldn't have been more perfect. XD

After one update, checkerboard-tailed horses temporarily lost their checkers! Thalassa's tail is back to its checkered "normal" now. :^)

Oh dear, this poor horse!

And we thought the name DingDong was embarrassing... XD

See, Arrowhead? It could be way worse.

Lots of odd sights that day, including this. How, Moonstone's foal? How?

Posing moose

Favorably awry, huh? =)

Sorry, wild. Hiding behind the bear won't save you from Pepsi's lasso!

This was waiting to greet Spruce and Pepsi when they went to auction some wilds.

These two ponies were naturally standing this close together, which is fairly uncommon.
Their names went together nicely too: "TakeAChance" and "ThisAndThat."

Essence anomaly party #2! Pepsi and Bumpy saw a player riding an ambling horse in the dark!

A new day dawned while everybody waited.
I love that there's a player out there named "Appropriate Cucumber."

+157 essence! Thank you, essence anomaly!
