Where's their Christmas spirit?

December is galloping by at record speed, at least for us. We've been delivering mail, exploring, and lassoing wilds on HI3 as time allows, but sadly that isn't often lately. No herd hopefuls so far, which we don't mind. December is only in its middle stages, and there have still been plenty of cool wilds roaming around to entertain us (in addition to our stableful of immortal keepers).

Our first wild equine of note for the month came to us at dusk out in the wonder shrooms.

Fancy build, stunning coloring (who doesn't love champagnes?), huge hooves, and small head... Quite unique, to be sure. The pony lost the random name lottery big time, though: this is a stallion. XD

Wow, another one with exactly 1000 genetic base stats! Is it just me, or does this happen to us more than is normal?

He has quite impressive speed and sprinting ability for his size (and despite those jumbo hooves)! I was extremely bummed when I scrolled down to his personality. Very skittish, and even worse, very ornery. (Maybe he resents his name?) No solid champagne pony for us.

We took him for a spin before selling him anyway, and we managed not to get bucked off in that short window of time. He sure was cute!

Here's one last look at him without a rider in more optimal lighting:

Our second wild of note was hanging out on a volcanic beach.

Not an appropriate name for an auburn brown mare, but I'm sure Mistress would tell her she has nothing to complain about.

I got excited about this one too: another high genetic stat total, good speed, great jump power, brave and not ornery...

Then we had Pepsi try her out, and we realized right away it wasn't going to work out: we can't handle the stubborn leader circling.

We found our third wild of note in a volcanic-transitioning-to-swamp area.

We assume from her short-back-and-long-legs build that her home turf is volcanic. Her coloring and bright blue eyes are absolutely gorgeous! <3 She most certainly did not deserve to be named "Mistake." Why is this even in HI3's name list?

She's speedy and is one of the most powerful jumpers we've ever caught. (Of our keepers, only Driftwood has her beat.)

Drat, ornery again!

Like I said, we're in no particular hurry to expand the herd farther, but still, I sure hope this pattern does not continue for the rest of the year! Our herd has enough drama kings and queens already, ha ha.

Enjoy these screenshots of some other recently-caught wild equines who lucked out with much more fitting random names.

*Applauds* It's so satisfying to me when randomly-generated names just happen to work out this well.  Sand Dune is my favorite, for obvious reasons, but I also thought IceCream and Fossil were adorable! =)
