Too Many Pintos? Never.

We're in another dip on our spring weather roller coaster ride. It snowed half-heartedly most of yesterday, and it's not supposed to even make it to 30 degrees today. *Sighs*

Enough about that. Our featured wild equines today are from much more balmy biomes.

Up first is this large, awkward-looking bay mare from the savanna.

Wow, 17.9 mph speed! This makes her the third fastest wild we have ever lassoed! The only ones who are naturally faster are Nessie and Topi, who are both big, awkward-looking bays as well! Interesting coincidence!

If you're wondering why we've included this horse in a post about pintos, see below:

I know it's rather pathetic, but she is technically a pinto. XD And most definitely a keeper, despite her skittishness.

Pinto #2 is this extremely handsome sabino stallion with Bend-Or spots.

I was ready to welcome him into the herd just based on his appearance - like Topaz. He's by far the handsomest Bend-Or spotted horse we've ever lassoed, not that there was much competition. XD

Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. So very ornery. =(

Our final pinto is a plucky wonderland pony. Silver, naturally.

We found him hanging out near PukkaPixie's old ranch site. <3 We're fairly confident he is truly a wonderland wild and did not wander over from the nearby jungle - he has that fancy wonderland look.

Wow, 984 base stat total! Not too shabby.

He may be lazy and on the small side, but we were immediately smitten anyway.

To his relief, no doubt, we have renamed him Dude. Full credit to PukkaPixie for the suggestion.

PepsiSummer and PukkaPixie finally met in game yesterday and had quite the relaxing evening wandering around together. They both just happened to be riding - you guessed it - pintos! Here are some fun screenshots to commemorate the occasion.

Among the many wilds they discovered was this herd of 5. (#5, a dark horse, is not visible in this shot. Likely hidden behind a mushroom, but we promise it was there.)

One of those 5 was Oz, a pacing pinto. Cute but ornery. It was uncanny how many of the wilds they found that evening fell into that category!

No herd hopefuls for Pepsi, which is a good thing - we're already trying to convince Lily to let us keep 3 for the month - but PukkaPixie did lasso this cool high-stat wonderland wild named "Shelby" near the end of the excursion. He's not a pinto but still worthy of mentioning!

Aw, it's fortunate for our horse slot situation that PukkaPixie caught him and not us. I wonder if she will keep him?

  1. Of course I'm going to keep him! XD.
Look at that intelligence stat, most of my horses are lacking in that department, it might be worth breeding him to a couple of mares I'm undecided about to see if I get any decent fillies.

Wow! There are some great screenshots there, I must admit, It was the best night I've ever had on HI3, I used to randomly team up with people on HI2 to catch wilds, but people are so spread out now that I rarely bump into anyone else.
Most of the horses I'm catching lately are either stallions, lacking in hieght or have terrible stats and personality. I'm spending most of this week going back to where I caught most of my better horses, which was on the mainland near the old ranch. So far I've not had any luck. Lol.

I rode Nevada Star last night, he is so fast! Unfortunately he was dropping stamina at an alarming rate, so I trained that up as far as I could and he's much better now. He's going to be my Mount for the week, as I can cover a lot of ground on him. If I can't catch any decent mares this week I might buy some, I saw two nice fillies for sale when I was tradering my horses. I need some new blood in my herd as most of my horses are related to each other.

I think you have a really nice horse there with Bandwagon. I like taller horses generally and there's a specific type that is really good in the snow, and this horse is it! Everybody should have a good snow horse in their stable!

So glad that Nadia/Dude has resolved his gender issues! XD
I think the way his head and neck is set is reminiscent of a friesian horse. He has a really nice look about him, almost like one of those old fashioned wooden rocking horses.

Hope we can meet up again soon, and I found a little hobby light that I can use to light my keyboard so I can see what I'm typing next time. I normally use my tablet, so it takes me a while to readjust to the laptop, plus my typing speed is abysmal. Lol.
Thanks for being so patient during my fumblings.

    PP.

    1. I just was looking back and realized I never responded to this when I happily received it back in March. My bad!

Anyway, I'm so pleased you decided to keep "Shelby." If he does sire some foals, I'm eager to see what they'd look like! Same with Nevada Star. <3 He is so cool, and yes, I've noticed training makes a big difference! If I didn't have such a severe horse-hoarding problem, I'd train everybody, ha ha.

I wish you luck in your search for nice mares! It seems like whenever you are wanting mares, you get stallions and vice versa.

I'm so glad you enjoyed that evening we spent riding around together! I love how vast HI3 is, but I rarely interact with other players, so that was a real treat for me as well. If only we both had more free time to do such things more regularly!

Thanks for the vote of confidence regarding Bandwagon! I have not been out in snow lately to see how she does, but I imagine you are right! I've decided to keep her name as it is because it amuses me to be able to say I'm going to go jump on (the) Bandwagon.

I totally see what you mean about Dude's head/neck set! <3 Every time I look at him now, I think of rocking horses. He's a keeper for sure.

Hopefully we overlap again online soon! Life's been so busy for me that my only chance for HI3 is sporadic times on weekends, and it doesn't appear you've been on lately either. *Sighs* Your solution to the keyboard lighting problem sounds promising. :^) I did not mind the delays - gave me time to take screenshots, etc. I'm glad you didn't think I was holding you up with all my wanderings off any time my horsie sense kicked in. XD
